Andrew Antoniou has had extensive experience teaching drawing, painting and printmaking. He has exhibited work in Sydney, Melbourne, USA and UK and is a member of the Royal Society of Painters and Etchers, London, and has works in the National Gallery of Australia and the Art Gallery NSW collections and was awarded the 2004 Australian Print Council Commission. He has been a seven time finalist in the prestigious Dobell Drawing Prize at the AGNSW.

APLIN, Sally

Sally has experience in many art practices. She was awarded her M.A. in Fine Art at Cardiff University, a B.A. in Fine Art at University of the West of England and a teaching diploma in Bristol. Studying principally painting and then sculpture Sally has worked also with enamel processes spasmodically for the last 30 years. She is drawn to the unending possibilities with the medium. Sally has been selected for exhibitions in Germany, France and in USA including California in 2010. She had solo exhibitions in Bristol Cathedral, Bristol University, a Bath Museum and Morley College London in 2000. Sally has a studio in Chatswood where she now lives. She says “I love teaching and believe fiercely in drawing which for me underpins all art practice.”

AYLWARD, Sarah

Sarah trained at Hornsby TAFE, Alexander Mackie College in Sydney and Claremont School of Art in Perth. She has participated in many solo and group shows in NSW, including Holdsworth Galleries and in WA. She has won many art prizes and commendations and her work hangs in a number of Council Chambers, Galleries and private collections. Sarah brings to her teaching 30 years of training in personal development and meditation, making her a great communicator.

Jo has been a guest lecturer and teacher at public and Regional art galleries, colleges and tertiary institutions for many years and is an experienced art writer being widely published and reproduced. She has also worked as a Fine Art consultant for auction house ‘Joel Fine Art’. Jo has had many years of solo exhibitions of her work in Australia, including several Regional Art Galleries, hundreds of group exhibitions and many private and public collections both nationally and internationally. Her work is currently represented by Tim Olsen Galleries in Sydney, and Melbourne Art Rooms (MARS Gallery) in Melbourne. She is currently undertaking a four year project as ‘Expedition Artist’ with “Australian Desert Expeditions” working with the SA Museum, National Museum of Australia and National Portrait Gallery, a group of writers, scientists and historians on archeological, anthropological and indigenous research in the Simpson Desert.

BYRNES, Richard

Richard has held 18 solo and over 70 group exhibitions. He is a previous winner of the Hunters Hill, Gosford, Blacktown, Waverley and Thursday Plantation Sculpture Prizes. He has also won the NSW Travelling Scholarship and Paris Residency. CAMPBELL-ALLEN, Barbara

Barbara specialises in the subtle world of long wood firing. She has an MA in ceramics from Monash University. Barbara’s work is widely exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions and is published in ceramics journals in Australia and America. “I am interested in my students gaining skills in the making, decorating and firing of ceramic work. CHOUNG, Kwi Rak

Kwi Rak studied ceramics at National Art School, and later gained an MA (by research) from Monash University. He specialises in high temperature stoneware ceramics, especially anagama (a woodfire kiln) firing technique. His practice has evolved in conjunction with his knowledge on the concepts of Taoism and Buddhism.

COHEN, Mieke http://www.miekecohen.com

Mieke is an established painter and printmaker with 30 years experience teaching printmaking. She has given many workshops within Australia as well as Internationally. These include taking adults for a month to Venice for printmaking in a studio on the Grand Canal, and on three different weekends, printmaking on Arthur Boyd’s Bundanon Shoalhaven River property. Mieke has also given lectures and demonstrations in regional galleries within NSW. Mieke’s interest lies in blurring the boundaries between mediums using a mixed media approach to printmaking. She has regular solo exhibitions and participates in group printmaking exhibitions with Sydney Printmakers and the Print Circle. Her work is represented in major corporate and private collections in Australia and Internationally.

Rhonda Dwyer is a jewellery & object designer/maker. She has an Advanced Diploma in Jewellery & Object Design at Enmore Design Centre, TAFE. During her studies at TAFE she was a finalist for the TAFE Arts Prize. She later continued her studies at SCA, University of Sydney completing a BVA majoring in Jewellery. As part of her degree she undertook an exchange to Alberta College of Art & Design, Calgary, Canada. After her studies she was selected to partake in a graduate studio residency at Sturt Contemporary Craft Centre, Mittagong. She taught students from Frensham Girls School but also developed a body of work during her six week stay. She exhibited her jewellery along with another jeweller at the end of her stay in the Sturt gallery. She now has been working for over two years for a local design company specialising in developing silver prototypes for production and helping out in small production runs. She has widely exhibited her work within Australia.

FAERBER, Ruth

Ruth studied at the National Art School, Orban Studios, Workshop Arts Centre, Sydney University of Fine Arts, Pratt Centre New York, sculpture workshops in Sweden and Mexico and papermaking in Japan. Since 1964 she has had 40 solo exhibitions in Australia, New Zealand, London and Japan. She is represented in most Australian state galleries and museum collections in New Zealand, Israel, West Germany, Sweden and Mexico, as well as corporate and private collections in Australia and overseas.

Barbara studied Fine Arts at the Sorbonne, Paris, and obtained a Certificate in Advanced Art and Craft in Jewellery and Lapidary at O’Halloran Hill College, Adelaide. She has also worked as a mosaic artist. In 1978 Barbara migrated to Australia from South Africa. She has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in painting both in South Africa and Australia. Her work is found in corporate and private collections here and overseas. In 1985 she began teaching painting, drawing and ceramics at various art centres. She has been teaching botanical illustration at the Workshop Arts Centre since 1997.

HARDWICK, Jennifer

Jen qualified as a Photographer in Perth, WA and worked as Wedding & Portrait photographer for many years. She continues to be passionate about the medium and although educated in film and darkroom, she has embraced the new technology and welcomes the ease of being able to take many more images. Combined with her love of graphics and computer skills a natural progression was using computer software to further enhance the images. The marriage of the new photographic technologies and computer post production gives the professional and enthusiastic amateur exposure to endless potential for creating great pictures. She derives pleasure in demonstrating to her students how a few new skills can make even the most technology illiterate beginner blossom.

Michael’s qualifications include BA (Visual Arts), City Art Institute, UNSW, and TAFE Certificate of Fine Art. Michael has been a practicing artist in Sydney for twenty four years and a teacher for the past seventeen years. Michael has been an exhibiting artist since 1987 and has held many solo and group shows and received numerous awards including the Sydney Morning Herald Travelling Arts Scholarship, the Dyson Bequest and the Moyra Dyring Studio in the Cite International Des Arts in Paris. He has spent four years travelling and painting in Europe, Asia and the US. Since 2005 Michael has held annual exhibitions at the Tim Olsen Gallery in Paddington, Sydney and is represented in many corporate and private collections.
