Students will explore techniques associated with painting in oil and acrylic and learn traditional and contemporary colour mixing, drawing and composition, painting in layers, impasto, glazing and scumbling. More advanced painters can develop their own projects. All skill levels.

Learn to draw from studies of objects and forms to build knowledge and confidence. Demonstrations will supply practical knowledge and introduce new techniques. Still life, landscape and figurative subject matters provide the foundation which may lead to more personal explorations. Beginners welcome.

In a relaxed and creative environment learn a considered approach to the process of producing paintings and drawings by means of concepts, sketches, learning to compose and scale up to a final image. This may be an acrylic or oil painting, mixed media or a series of drawings, either figurative, realistic or abstract. Beginners are taught the basics enabling them to advance to their own projects. A variety of techniques will be introduced throughout the term. All skill levels.
