SPRING HOLIDAY WORKSHOP - Drawing On Yourself

tutor: ANTONIOU, Andrew cost: $230
phone: WAC 9958 6540
email: admin@workshoparts.org.au
course dates: Weekend Workshop, Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 October

Use your memory, your experiences and your dreams as subject matter for image making. Observe your inner world and give it expression. This is a fundamental impulse that many artists have sought to realise through the centuries. Memory, however distant, can be re-interpreted into a form that speaks of our own imaginative power and uniqueness.

In this weekend workshop we will explore working directly from the imagination and focusing on our own personal imagery. A variety of methods will be employed to engage you in forming images, through poetry, music, word association and collage. The class will encourage you to think about composition and visual dynamics within the image. Working with charcoal we will also be developing technical skills in the class that will enhance your imagery through a greater understanding of line and tone study. This weekend will allow you to experiment with materials and lose inhibitions about ‘correct’ image making and will focus on the minds ability to find images that are personal and unique.
