Fix that ailing sculpture project or develop a concept into a finished 3D art work. With hands on teaching and advice Michael Vaynman can help you fulfill your vision: from concept development, armature construction, modeling (in clay, wax or plasticine), mould making, casting and all the way through to a finished artwork. Previous experience with sculpting helpful but not essential. Classes are kept small, no more than 10 students, to allow for personalized attention. All you need is, a good idea of what you want to achieve, creativity and perseverance. Materials extra.

Mixed Media & Acrylic Painting

Students will be encouraged to broaden their horizons using techniques in layers of acrylic, watercolour, ink, pastels, gouache and collage. They will explore colour, tone, form and texture as a means to achieving mixed media and acrylic works. Themes may include landscape, still life, figure, portrait and personal projects. Students will be taught to capitalise on mistakes and problem solve in layers. Students own marks and unique style are of primary importance. There is different experimental work each term. All skill levels.

This course is for those wanting to discover the exciting medium of the ‘artist original print’ suitable for beginners and advanced artists. Both traditional and more experimental methods are taught. These include intaglio and relief print methods eg. zinc plate traditional etching, drypoint, collagraphs, solar plates and many other layered techniques to produce an image. “Learning how to make a printable surface is just one step, knowing possibilities of how to print this surface is another!” There is an emphasis on safe work practices in the studio.
